About the Tale of the Elden Ring
The Arcane Sanctum is the center of the world between the human world and the realm of the gods. The seven Kingdoms are located on each side of the Sanctum. In the far west are the lands of men and in the east are the lands of the gods.
The Holy Land, the Land of Forgotten Dreams, is the central territory of the seven kingdoms. The land lies between the two worlds.
While the peoples of the seven kingdoms have been living together harmoniously for many centuries, those who came to the Arcane Sanctum to fight for power in the most recent skirmishes fell to the way of the titan.
The mage, Arkel, was defeated and lost his will to live after having lost to the titan. He took his mantle from a fallen titan and led an army of paladins which later changed into a guild known as the Elden Ring.
The lord of the Elden Ring is Tarnished, a servant of grace, who is a nobleman who has fallen. Tarnished originally came from the Holy Land and was a priest of the Sanctuary of Wisdom. While traveling to the Sanctum to find a solution to his problem, Tarnished received the mantle of the priest, the Merciful. Tarnished later met and married the lady Francesca, the daughter of the protector of the sanctum.
While Tarnished’s god sent him to the Arcane Sanctum, he was badly injured while trying to defend the sanctum. He was saved by the lover Zar Lootsman, the last living paladin. He also met and fell in love with Francesca. Zar Lootsman and Francesca met again when they were in the Holy Land to seek the deity who wielded the Elden Ring.

The game was officially announced back at Nindies@NindieCon East in January 2016, and players have been slowly building up to this point in a desire for the third game to arrive. With so many different stages, this promises to be a rich story, though there is an added layer of challenge for players who already have experience with the series.
As for what specifically to expect from the title, it’s revealed that the upcoming RPG will have a new distinct art style (one that should distinguish it as a new game experience) and allow players to take charge of a new character class.
Since they’re working on a third title, and speaking of third titles, here’s some hints regarding the next RPG we’ll see from the series:
In the current fantasy setting of Tarnished Lands, there’s a lot of land that is just crying out for heroes to conquer it. What kind of world will the next RPG take place in? We expect to see the lands of Tarnished Lands spreading as far west as the Khalkran Mountains, and north to the Silver-Lake District.
“Both new and returning characters will be able to ride the steed, in addition to their own custom mount,” reports NIS America. “Elite fighters can also choose to take advantage of mounts to fight enemy units on the battlefield, on horseback.” So, custom mounts for the player! And fighting on horseback? Sounds like it should be interesting!
