During the first hour of gameplay, we follow the game as it introduces the player to the world, characters, enemies and dungeons of the game. This title has a much slower pace than Breath of the Wild, with a more linear design. The game is very narrative heavy, and I appreciated that during the first hour of gameplay. In all, this game does a great job of introducing you to the world. The story is interesting, the characters are well done and there’s enough information to keep you invested. The voice acting is a bit low, but it’s over the top compared to other titles, which makes it work. I really like that the combat feels like something from the past, but it’s designed for this title. Consequently, I didn’t feel like I was using the internet. In the later part of the first hour, you can start to unlock new things that you want to use for your character. At that point, you’ll also see a map. You can’t talk to other characters or do any real side quests. This part of the game quickly grows on you and you’ll soon find yourself with a good sense of what you should be doing. I also like that as you progress, you gain a new form of magic each time. You don’t really need to know your spell for 100% success, but it’s nice to have a backup. Once you’ve fully unlocked your character, you’ll need to get the party ready for a dungeon crawl.
