I have a little java app, the output of which is stored as a String in java. When this string is rendered as HTML, it cannot handle Unicode characters in the string. It looks like this: ÆKp
I use the following methods to display this string:

The first one works fine but when run through the second method, the characters render incorrectly:

Try this… you use the same replace() here too with the first replaceAll() param, so it will replace the “&” chars too. I tested it and it works for me fine, no chance of that unicode chars.

Replace All with a space will make no difference. When you do this, the string contains the “&” chars instead of the & chars itself.
