Sectimer is a small, fast, one-line DOS-based timer for counting down to zero. It is a cousin of SmartTimer, and in fact its authors also package a copy as one of its copyleft executables.
Sectimer aims to be a fun and useful tool, to replace the standard windows timer. It gives good results in most cases, especially when using its “fast mode” option.
This is largely due to the way it computes the time to reach 0. In the average case, it does not use “modulo arithmetic” for the time computations, but a simple random number generator that considers different factors like available time, software load, etc. This means that the time will be deterministic, but if you do the same operation a few times in a row, you may get a different result for each repetition (and you do).
Sectimer was developed with the idea that portable use should not limit configuration options, and all settings can be done in a single command line.

SECS is a program that will let you set up a delay timer that will help you to remember to do things that you always seem to forget, for example, change your coffee filters, take your medication at prescribed times, check the oil in your car, switch fuel filters on your car, change your CO2 filter on your air conditioner, get up at different times in the night to get different things done. It can be a good deal of help, in that situation.
What’s more, SECS is such a handy little program, that you’ll never again have to keep your phone on you or wear a watch when you are out and about. When you use it, you’ll have a running record of how long it takes you to perform all these tasks.
SECS can be controlled and programmed by using either the mouse or the keyboard. That is, by using a mouse, or by using the keyboard you can type in the number of the task to be performed and set a time for it. For example, typing in a 1 and then a 9 will set the timer to 1 minute past 9. Typing in a 3 and then a 9 will set the timer to 3 minutes past 9. You can also set the timer to go off a different time every time, or on the first day of each week.
To type in a value, you can either use the mouse or the keyboard. The keyboard approach is much more straightforward.
To use the keyboard, just type in the 1, 2, 3, 4,…
To use the mouse, just press the left mouse button on the number area and keep it down. The timer can be set in 10 minute increments, every hour, every day or whatever you like.
To start the program, you can use either the keyboard or the mouse. To use the keyboard, just press the button the “Start” button. To use the mouse, just click on the icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Once you have started the program, you can use either the mouse or the keyboard to set the time, which can be up to two weeks. The time can be set for an hour, every hour, at one minute intervals, or for a half hour or an hour. The time can also be set for a daily or weekly interval.
