I am back with a new design for (hopefully) the last time for today. I made it in Maya because I felt kind of comfortable with it, then I came in here with the intention of try to use the software again (to the extent of being able to post a tutorial) and I gave up again (although I have had the feeling that my skills have improved a lot in the last few months).
Here we go:
Good old Vincenzo!This is the helmet that I made before, but I didn’t like the headband so I replaced it. In that case, I placed the back hat’s front part in front of the hat’s back part (the two tiny parts of the original one) and then I rotated the two parts that made the headband to get to the exact shape:
After having done that, I turned the helmet in a 90 degrees angle and finally I “distanced” the new parts, subtracted the old ones and added a geometry like this:
This is an old tutorial I made with some time ago, but I didn’t post it cause I didn’t use Maya that much at that time. But now it’s time to tell you how to make the headband part in Maya… I saw that some people had used very complicated methods for that and actually I found a very simple method… Use a part (made of two curves) that attaches to the hat’s back part and then add another curve for the headband…
