Q:

`tuple` and `list` or `set` difference in `defining_union` and `foldLeft` in data-structure stackexchange

I have a very beginner question about data-structure stackexchange.
A few days ago I posted a question about how to perform element-wise union of tuples and lists in Scala, and someone answered with :

“I did this
def union[T](a: List[T], b: List[T])
=
a ::: b”

and it worked

I tried to understand what is the difference between defining unions with a list and a tuple, and I saw that we can define element-wise unions with a list, but that we cannot define element-wise unions with a tuple (using defining_union operator), instead we can do it with a set.
Can someone explain the difference between both methods, and why a list union is possible, and a tuple union is not? I think the answer is probably an easy question for anyone who is familiar with the subject, so I hope someone will help me to understand how union operation works in Scala.
Thank you.

AreaZoom works with floating windows, finder windows etc to select areas of your screen.
Its built-in magnifier will magnify the selected area, in fact you can magnify any part of your screen. To make the magnification level sharper or blurrier, just drag your mouse or put the mouse cursor over a part of your screen, just like the presentation mode. You may change and save it as a bitmap file as usual.
The selected area can be copied to the clipboard to use it where you want.
You may enlarge the selected area in the preview area to see a magnified view of your screen.
Use you keyboard to select and move the selected area and start moving it with the precision mouse drag, it can even be dragged under windows.
You can put the magnification status to show or hide your selected area in the preview area by setting preferences.
Below you may find a recorded video of the software to use this method to select the area of your screen.

Insert formula into cell using loop

I am trying to insert formula into a cell to which I am referring using loop. I have created the excel file with two worksheets named Selection and Formula. In the worksheet Selection I have 3 rows(A1:A3) and 20 columns(B1:D20). In the row 1 of worksheet selection I have a yellow block which is in active area. In this yellow block I have a total 20 cells which has values ranging from say a to e. The yellow block is constant but the contents in that block can vary(20, 30, 40, 50).
For e.g. it can be 30, 40, 50,20,15,15,10. In this case cell B2 in the worksheet Formula has to take value of B2 in the row 1 of worksheet selection and from this cell I have to add values from 1 to 20 in below cell (B2-B1). Similarly, I am trying to do the same thing in cell C2, D2.
What is the formula I can use to do the same in formula sheet.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

A:

Assuming that your yellow box is a range, the formula to be entered in B2-B1 of Formula sheet is:
=SUM(INDIRECT(A1&”1:20″))

Where the A1 is the yellow box and the 20 is the size of the group. In that case INDIRECT will return the range from B1 to A1 (only 3 rows), but will also include the 20 extra cells in A:D
