Compatibility

File-Ex supports Windows NT (32-bit) and Windows 95, 98, and 98SE. It is compatible with Win9X/Me, 2000, and XP. Windows 2000 does not support dynamic disabling, but it does support the “disable now” option.

Single-user, installable
This is a single-user application. You must buy two versions for multi-user configs. File-Ex can be installed on a networked/shared computer, and it runs without an installer.

File-Ex is an 8MB (Vista/XP/2000) to 16MB (NT) application. After the optional 1st year, the full application is only 5MB or less.

· Click on the two buttons in the upper left of the dialog to see a list of commands (Copy, Delete, Rename, etc.)
· Click on the gear button in the upper right to get the options menu (Search functions, button configuration, etc.)
· Double-click on the file/folder to open it with that application. You can also Ctrl-click to open multiple items in that application.
· Press Ctrl-F to cycle through available files. Press Ctrl-Shift-F for a dialog with 100 files in that application.
· When an item is highlighted in the tree, and the Enter key is pressed, File-Ex opens the dialog with that item selected.
· Have the dialog choose the specified folder automatically, and add/edit the list of files/folders in that folder.
· Switch folders with Ctrl-Shift-PgUp and Ctrl-Shift-PgDn (Windows dialog). Press “up” when in another folder to switch back.
