If you have upgraded from a previous version of iRiver H jukebox software, the database may or may not be compatible. Therefore, it is important to check the compatibility chart shown above when creating or upgrading your databases. Upgraded databases from versions 1.x or prior are not compatible with newer iRiver H series jukebox software.
Common issues when using the software to transfer databases:
A database may not transfer successfully if it is greater than 2GB in size. If you need to store a larger database file on your harddisk, one solution is to split it into smaller (less than 2GB each) parts.
A database created in iFish may not be transferred to your iRiver H when the database name is too long for the H’s file name limit (the limit varies depending on the harddisk size and software version, but is somewhere between 12 and 16 characters). This is because iFish uses a naming convention in which the database file name ends in the letters IPG. You may need to manually remove this last character before transferring the database to the H.

Installation
You can install iFish on any computer with a Java runtime environment (JRE). To install the iFish application on your computer, you may choose either of the following three methods:
Download the iFish installation file (iFish.exe) from the download page.
Use the built-in installer provided by the iRiver H series: copy the install folder (included in the iRiver H series driver/CD-ROM disc) into a folder on your hard disk, and run it from there.
Use the built-in installer provided by the iRiver H2 series and newer models: copy the install folder (included in the iRiver H2 series driver/CD-ROM disc) into a folder on your hard disk, and run it from there.
Download the FileMaker Pro program
This is the method by which you must install the Windows version of FileMaker Pro on your computer.
After downloading the installer (FileMakerPro.exe), double-click on it to begin installation.
Use the standard Windows Installer
The iFish installation file is a ZIP archive file containing all necessary files for installation. Because of this, the installation program can be used to install iFish on any computer with a Windows operating system (OS). To do this, simply copy the installation file from the download page to the folder containing the FileMaker program. You can then double-click on the iFish.exe file to begin installation.
Note: The WinZip and WinRAR software are not supported by iRiver, and neither program supports the installation of compressed files in the ZIP file format.
