Our first release of Picolay has some limitations: We want to grow to the task of automatically stacking your pics into awesome projects. However, to stay lightweight and keep the price at a fair level, we will be focusing on first the things that people want first.
People are reporting stacked images in a few seconds. For stacking, we have a few changes in mind:
The process of stacking will be changed from vertical to horizontal. This means that you will have to stack multiple times until you get the desired result, no matter how.
Our package includes a second stacking script, but we will make sure you don’t have to use it unless you want to. Just follow the suggestions we have for stacking and you will be there.
We are working to allow you to set the stacking dimensions, so you can make adjustments to the images in relation to the height or width. The same holds for stacking position and orientation. It should be even easier than stacking normal pics.
We are developing a preview window, so you can see exactly what you’re doing.
We want to create a “main window” for Picolay to allow you to do your modifications. It will include the first stacking script and some other features.
We are also working on a command line interface, so you can easily stack and process your images with command line.
There is more we want to work on and improve, but we have to focus on this first. If you don’t find the stacking as you want or if we’re going to develop a new feature, you’ll be the first to know!
With Picolay we want to make a tool for stacking pictures that are ready for printing, because we think that print is where a lot of people want to go after their pictures.
